h/t -- Josh Marshall (Talking Points Memo)
You have to wonder if it is willful ignorance on the part of Stephanopolous, Will and Tapper that they refuse to see racial code when it's painfully obvious to anyone who has lived in the South for any time at all. It's especially willful for Tapper and Will -- who should be intimately familiar with the GOP's "Southern Strategy".
Washington, DC may have stayed in Union hands during the Civil War, but it's as close to the "Deep South" as it is to New York... with legacy of Jim Crow and Jesse Helms barely fading with the passing of the decades.
It was good to see them get schooled by Gergen.
