PostHeaderIcon Recipe Friday: Ground Beef Casserole

Back to the Methodist Women's Cookbook Basics...

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup finely cut celery
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sliced carrots (juliened)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup minute rice

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a skillet, lightly brown the ground beef. Add the onions and celery, cook for about 5 minutes -- stirring occasionally. Add water, soups, soy sauce, carrots, mushrooms and rice.

Pour into a baking dish, bake for 30 minutes covered. Uncover & sprinkle chow mein noodles over the top. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
